Karran put in charge of drug and alcohol policy

It's been announced that Peter Karran will be the man responsible for heading up the Department of Home Affairs' Drug and Alcohol Strategy.

The Liberal Vannin Leader has the delegation for the strategy which shapes the Island’s future drug and alcohol policy.

The Onchan MHK says he has his work cut out for him in the role and wants to revisit a former idea he had earlier in his political career of establishing a full time drug squad.

Mr Karran says he looks forward to working with Minister Juan Watterson to formulate the best way of tackling what have become significant problems for the Isle of Man in recent years:
