The World Cup Poster Campaign

Figures have revealed that domestic abuse cases on the Isle of Man increased during this world cup compared to the last one.

During the 2006 campaign the total of domestic abuse incidents recorded was 18. That has gone up to 22 this year. In most cases children were in the household.

A campaign was launched by the police with the tag line Don't Pay the Penalty. It was launched after previous figures showed that domestic violence increased during world cup campaigns.

Of the 22 reported cases during the football festival, 15 arrests were made.
