Community Culture and Leisure Minister Says Bendy Bus Decision Due Soon

Minister Cretney Awaiting Decision From Director of Public Health

A decision into the possibility of bringing bendy buses to the Isle of Man is soon to be reached according to Community, Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney.

There has been public outcry following the trial of the buses last year, with the general feeling from the public that they are unnecessary.

Community Culture and Leisure Minister David Cretney said he is awaiting the outcome of the trial from Director of Public Transport Ian Longworth before any definitive decision is reached.

He also conceded that he knows they are an unpopular choice but says if they were to be introduced on the Island it would be to strengthen the Transport service on offer.

If they do come to the Island, among other routes, they will cover the airport route, with more space for baggage.

As part of the transport overhaul there is currently an order for new single decker buses being built currently in Ireland.
