2009 - The Awards

Well hello and firstly...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

So 2010 is here at last (Twenty Ten or Two Thousand & Ten...Im goin with the first one) and I have just about recovered from New Years Eve.
So My New Years Resolution is erm...oh whats the point?!

So for my first blog of 2010 I thought I would cast my eye over the last 12 months and dish out my fave parts of the last year....as always let me have your feedback & thoughts.

Movie Awards 2009

BEST DRAMA

The Hurt Locker
Iraq. Forced to play a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse in the chaos of war, an elite Army bomb squad unit must come together in a city where everyone is a potential enemy and every object could be a deadly bomb.
"The Hurt Locker is a serious character study and a taut, suspenseful action thriller at once. Amazing experience and superbly acted...best Iraq film out there"

BEST COMEDY

The Hangover
A Las Vegas-set comedy centered around three groomsmen who lose their about-to-be-wed buddy during their drunken misadventures, then must retrace their steps in order to find him.
"One of the funniest films I have ever seen...and the Uncut version is even better!"

BEST ANIMATED

Up
By tying thousands of balloon to his home, 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn't alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip.
"A genuinely emotional masterpiece and possibly the saddest opening sequence ever made"

BEST HORROR

Paranormal Activity

After moving into a suburban home, a couple becomes increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence.
"Scared the hell out of me...made me take my camcorder out of the bedroom"

BEST SCI FI

District 9
An extraterrestrial race forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly finds a kindred spirit in a government agent who is exposed to their biotechnology.
"Completely blew me away by being totally different to what I was expecting. Superbly acted with amazing realistic CGI and an amzing debut performance from Sharlto Copley"

GAME OF THE YEAR

UNCHARTED 2 (PS3)
"This playstation exclusive game is one of the best games of all time. Looks gorgeous, amazing Voice Acting, Script. It has everything and then some."

SINGLE OF THE YEAR

Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
"With the help of David Guetta The Black Eyed Peas dominated both the pop charts and dance charts with this infectious tune which was everywhere this year. Sadly The X Factor finalists murdered it on the first results show."

TV SHOW OF THE YEAR

Big Brother 10
"I know im bound to get a bit of flak for this, but seriously it was one of the best BB's from the last 5 years. The back to basics approach with no wierdos really worked its magic throughout the summer months...just a shame nobody watched it."

2009's Most Hated

Katie Price
"Having been a relatively big Jordan fan, I was amazed by how much venom and hatred I have for her now. Her attempts at publicity throughout 2009 have ranged from lame ("Im A celebrity") to stupid (writhing around on an ibizan beach). The term "overexposed" has never been more apt...we all know break ups are hard but try and have some dignity."

And I think that's the lot.

Thanks for reading...speak soon :0)
